Christmas Gift from Kathy

It’s Christmas 2020! Hopefully, it will be a bright star in the crazy night sky that 2020 has been! To celebrate and give thanks, Kathy is giving a gift to a very deserving person who has shown strength, resilience, and compassion this year.

Kathy is giving away an amazing gift of products and a skincare treatment worth more than $500 to someone special NOMINATED BY YOU! So, thanks to all the friends, family, and co-workers who nominated so many deserving people! 2020 has been a hard year, but we can see from the stories of those nominated that so many people have stepped up to the challenge and shown a true Christmas spirit!

Many of the stories reflected the sadness and the isolation that the pandemic has created. Other stories showed perseverance in the face of adversity. And while it is so hard to choose from all the deserving people, Kathy is really excited to present the gift to this deserving person. So we wish you all a wonderful holiday season and we looking forward to seeing you in 2021!

The Recipient

From the friend who nominated her: I would like to nominate my dear friend and a true hero, Michelle Wetterich.  Michelle is an experienced, knowledgeable, hard-working emergency nurse.  She has spent decades saving lives and working tirelessly to provide top-notch care to those in desperate situations.  What makes Michelle special is not just how good she is at her job but how willing she is to work.  Always available to pick up hours, cover someone’s call, stay late, come in early, she is that reliable teammate that never has to be asked to lend a hand and who never expects accolades or paybacks.  In the midst of all of the chaos and turmoil of this year of medical uncertainties and the paralyzing fear of a pandemic virus, Michelle decided to take a second job as an agency nurse.  Her assignment was and still is (since late Spring) serving as one of the few night shift nurses at an Ohio state prison.  While people were hoarding toilet paper and locking themselves inside Michelle was/is working nearly 80 hour weeks as a front line employee, both in a prison and an emergency room.  All of these hours of work leave little time for self-care and I would like to see her 1.) receive a little recognition for her selflessness and 2.) be treated to a little self-care and pampering, as she is truly deserving.  Michelle always claims that she never wins anything but what she often fails to notice is that she wins the hearts of everyone she meets because to know her is to love her.  Thank you for considering her.
